Preparing Burn2.0

Here we are! The Burn2.0 is near to start and from backstage it is already started with limited access for builders. Yes I must say, it’s a bit sad to remember that great past versions of same inspiration manifestation as Burning Life 2009 (6 editions) with an incredible and neverseen all linked park expo with 32 sims of Second Life gived from Linden Labs, the past magnificent event of Art into the metaverse BLife with great staff art organizers expert as White Lebed that I like to remember for her great work of past editions, she gave also her point of view about what happened in this last summer transition between the two different concepts editions. Now the new Burning Man (RLife) inspired event become Burning 2.0 and it is composed from  6 sims but all private owned on new organization that obviously needs to grow up in the next years. So it seems to found a new idea order, to plan into a different point of view, where everybody needs to pay (this year now it is 8000 ld for a plot standard) for a plot area 32 x 32 mt with 351 prims, and usual many rules, limits as do not use huge prims, no rezzer with temp prims, no large use of sculpts, huge scripts, for builders and  no commercial logo, no selling, respect of SLife TOS policy, ect.

I can see actually some good well known artists presences as Bryn Oh, AM Radio, Soror Nishi, Ub Yifu, Betty Tureaud, Maryva Mayo, Miso Susanowa, Wizard Gynoid, Sledge Roffo, Gracie Kendal, Chipley Chippewa, Maya Paris, Solkide Auer, ect. many are new too so we can have a little but good artists selection in this, we can say, a new born event and a new seed of relevant art events into metaverses, I am sure we will see great things in the future.

So this year almost all plots are with payment fees, 25 with lottery 100 ld. price and 12 free plots with Theme Assignement. So my symbiont Xaan Allen won a plot at the lottery for random lucky avatars! And I putted in 2 friends as cobuilders Shanti Yutani and Dixit Writer.

burn 2.0 Xaan Allen (Merlino Mayo) installation

Title of mine installation at Burn2 :
Ignis Homo – Man of Fire –
The giant Man of Fire is the “power”, he is standing on a transparent city made of rust buildings under fire, the shadow men’s army try to climb and to conquest the giant, but they fail, they are trapped into the buildings and become black shapes, the few that reach the top are throwed away in the sky by the hands of power. The Sun is a Machina, a metal sphere constantly moving, it’s the symbol of the technologic perfection but also of a beautiful cage.

The Metro of Milan meets Virtual Worlds (1st Part)

Some time ago I was called to partecipate at the intersting project born from a Bruno Aliprandi idea, (informatic responsable at the Accademia di Brera) involving the Metropolitane ATM di Milano and the Politecnico di Milano in partnership with The sim of ImparafacileLearning Project (Imparafacile Runo aka Giovanni Dalla Bona ) with the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan, ATM and the master named MIND (London Network for Design) with prof. Ezio Cuoghi.
I am working here as artist and structural builder on this project in line with my targets to look for a good link between Virtual Worlds and Real Life, because I am sure this is the most important step we are going to reach next years with Technologies developping and Social-Creative comunications.
This really intersting experiment was studing the chance to put real installations into the Metro Stations in the city of Milan, such as Porta Venezia and later in Porta Garibaldi , in Italy this kind of projects are so few, so I feel really proud to have been called to take part of it as a pioneer. These installations boxes with monitors and connected computers will be able to let interact travelling citizens to the virtual worlds reality, and to see meetings, art students working, ect.
My part, was to plan a complex project structure to give space, expo areas and auditorium place into the Second Life area, so that become a real social media network. I want to thanks also Dixit Writer, called for the scripts develop of interactive installations to show the art works.

Stay tuned!

I put this Google Translated version here:

“Milan: Second Life in Metro  July 15, 2010

The virtual art arrives in the real world. After a thousand times spoken of as situations, environments, real creations are finished sublimated into virtual reality, now it is the virtual is taking a little revenge. Starting from today, in one of the main stations of Milan, Porta Venezia, commuters can enjoy the city on a screen set up for the occasion, a video that presents a rotating series of artistic photos from Second Life.

Behind this unusual project is the Brera Academy of Fine Arts (in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan, the Milan Triennale and Adi – Association for Industrial Design) at the end of April 2010 has opened a second level master named MIND (London Network for Design), under the direction of prof. Ezio Cuoghi. The Master with the aim of training new professionals able to design artistic works, cultural and service in the fields and in the relational spaces of a city, combining the expertise on new technologies to the creative and artistic aesthetic of new languages. Here, then, that the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan has shown an uncommon breadth of vision, particularly through the opening in this sense the IT manager Bruno Aliprandi, motor initiative, which saw new potential in Second Life and an art world still little regarded by the media but actually very rich and vibrant. After a series of lessons that have students in the metaverse Judah, is therefore the first results. Metro will be visible on the screen shots within the virtual world and then retouched with specific graphics programs is that of students Mind virtual artists ‘pure’ well-known in the art world of Second Life, in a stimulating comparison between sensitivity art. But it is only the first step of a project much wider. In September, a similar initiative will be involved with the underground station of Porta Garibaldi, while other initiatives will take the direction of interactivity and dell’immersività with repercussions both in the real world in the virtual world. The contact person for the project within Second Life is Imparafacile Runo, trainer for years using the Metaverse as a platform for e-learning. His is the island (Imparafacile Island) made available to students of the Master. Beside him the Mayo Merlin builder who’s working environment for meetings and exhibitions for the gallery and Free Art of the undersigned for advice on virtual artists.

With a little ‘delay with respect to certain foreign reality more careful, we can therefore say that finally even in Italy the art virtual begins to arouse some curiosity outside of the environments in which it is born. After the exhibition Michelangelo architect in Rome, which saw the City of Rome sponsor a window into the Metaverse with an installation dedicated to designs by Michelangelo, and Viareggio Art Project, in collaboration with the Museum of Metaverse with Museums of Villa Pauline Bonaparte in Viareggio, so here is that through the Milan Brera Accedemia became aware of that offer exciting possibilities for experimentation in new media, giving new life to contemporary art.”
